Working with the many forms of India’s living heritage
India’s cultural heritage is expressed through materials, skills, stories, rituals, performances, foods, landscapes, and everyday practices.
Our work brings attention to traditions that are often deeply significant within their communities but insufficiently documented or understood beyond them. We work across cultural domains while recognising that these areas are interconnected.
A textile may be linked to ecology, ritual, economy, identity, and family history. A food tradition may carry agricultural knowledge, seasonal memory, and community relationships. A performance may preserve histories that have never been formally recorded.
Our programmes are guided by the Five Pillars: Discover, Document, Preserve, Promote, and Impact.
